Do you like puzzles?  Then you will really like the Pretzel Twist pattern.  Learn the easy piecing techniques to sew this quilt together.  Then enjoy putting the pieces together!  Jane Vaughan will be your instructor.Make it in your choice of 3 sizes using 2 1/2″ strips and a background color.  You can make it scrappy or in just 3 colors.  The class is Saturday, October 16, from 9 until 1, at Middleton Community Church.

Cost : $25 which includes the pattern.  A supply list will be given to you when you register.  Bring a lunch or go out to a restaurant.

Date TBD– Mary Joy Johnson – “Sexy Sixties” 60º triangles!

Yes, those 60° triangles are indeed sexy. Depending on your fabric choices, a little ingenuity in strip piecing, and easy piecing techniques, you can make visually stunning quilts. And you’ll be astounded how easy they are to work with.

Join guild member Mary Joy Johnson in this workshop to learn the secrets of manipulating these
triangles as you make a table runner. She will also talk about the many ways to design with these
versatile blocks.

To register for the workshop, fill out the form below and give to either Dee Van Driel or Mary Joy, along with a check for $30 made out to MadCity Quilt Guild

Date TBD– Bill Hoernke – “Making a Bargello Quilt”

For many quilters, the idea of making a bargello quilt is overwhelming. Many assume it’s too
difficult and never get started. Come to this workshop, to learn the techniques to construct a
small bargello quilt project that can be made into a table top decoration or a wall hanging. You
can then use this lesson to make a larger project or a bed size quilt at home.

At the Mad City Quilt Guild evening meeting on Monday, March 23rd, Bill Hoernke will give a
lecture on “Finding the Inspiration to Make Your First Bargello Quilt”. If you can attend the
meeting and find a little bit of that inspiration, then you will likely want to take this workshop to
get started on your project (attending the lecture is not required to take the workshop).

To register for this workshop, fill out the form below, include a check for $30 payable to Mad
City Quilt Guild and give to Dee Van Driel or Bill Hoernke at a meeting

Photo Days for 2020

Join us for a photo + socialization event at Middleton Community Church. We will have the guild quilt frame, along with lights for you to photograph your quilts. If you do not have a hanging sleeve, we can use drapery clips to hang your quilt,. The frame can setup either indoors or outdoors (depending on the weather)

While members take photos, Diane Galarneau, Bill Hoernke and Kristin Gumbinger will be there to assist. Take this opportunity to stop over and socialize + hand stitch with us! At the last event, we had a great time getting to know each other better!!
